The way of keep your website high on search engine page rankings is a definite knack. Search engines are always changing themselves and so companies need to tweak and alter their websites.
Forescene offers these tips to maintaining a high profile when the search engines come knocking.
Have all your important pages easy to find. Make sure your core business and most looked for information is near the top of the pile. They should be no fewer that a couple of clicks from your homepage.
Interlink your website, make sure all related pages on the site are linked internally from your website’s pages. This is one of the simplest ways of developing inbound links.
Use keywords when building navigation links. If a particular keyword is important make sure linking pages use it in the navigation process. Although not guaranteed to increase your ranking, it will help raise your keywords profile.
Make sure you use absolute links when specifying a page; these should include the whole URL, and not just the .html link. Include “nofollow” links for privacy or conditions pages as well as unimportant links that you don’t wish search robots to rank.
Also remove unused, dead or unnecessary links, the fewer links per page mean that only the truly important ones are rated. When creating duplicate pages for indexing purposes include the robot.txt files so they only look over the important pages and don’t spend time evaluating content that is of no importance. Check for error messages and repair or delete those pages.
