Are Bulletin Boards Still Relevant?

Google Buzz

219626_8890A lot of the chatter that is generated over the internet is through Facebook, Twitter etc, these provide real time conversations and up to the second comment. However is there still a relevance for the more established forums, bulletin boards and discussion groups? Forescene believe there is still room for these old favourites in the conversations arena.

The current format for conversations are great for immediate responses but most themes, topics or points soon dwindle and new subject matter comes up for grabs. What the traditional style of bulletin boards and Q&A sessions allowed for was time. Time to consider and ponder the question, time to discover the threads and add your knowledge.

Threads go on for days, weeks and even months, giving many people to opportunity to join in. This just doesn’t happen with current social media platforms. Google think this is still true even today, and have recently brought up Aardvark, notorious for their discussion forums as proof of their confidence in its ongoing relevance.

So it would seem that another way to gain exposure is for companies to enter into Q&A sessions, post your own problems, answer other peoples and demonstrate your confidence and understanding of a topic. The forum, discussion process is still very much alive, mainly because of the fickle nature of many modern social media formats, there is still rooms for a good long discussion and argument.

Chat to Forescene, they are able to offer advice on engaging with customers, web design and company promotional ideas.
